Here’s what I’ve learned you don’t have to be influential to get paid you don’t need thousands of DMS you don’t even need to be a creator full-time.
I know this because it’s something I’ve experienced myself in the past year,
When I hit 20 000 followers on Instagram and about 5,000 subscribers.
Here on YouTube I noticed a significant shift in my sponsored content opportunities.
In fact keep it real I’m now earning a healthy four figures per month sometimes like.
This month just shy of five figures and sponsored content is not my full-time job.
I don’t say this to brag I say this to remind you,
That there’s money to be made and it’s kind of fun.
To add to my delight I’m now doing sponsored deals with brands that I use.
Admire like adobe teachable and other cool platforms,
That I’ve learned about through sponsored content opportunities like synthesis.
Podcasts I love it and while my follower count opened my eyes to the possibilities of sponsored content I discovered from a dear friend.

So, if you’re serious about creating an additional revenue stream here’s a step-by-step guide there are six steps in total.

Saves once you create a passionately engaged community then I think you’re ready for sponsored content even if that audience is small notice.
I didn’t say at any point that you need a gigantic community.
Step number three find brands that will fit with your audience you’ve built a community and it’s your job to satisfy,
That community take note of brands ones that you love ones that you use everyday ones that your followers mention in DMS ones that come up in your feed and narrow down a dream list,
That’s step three very simple that comes before what we do next let’s talk about that step number four let the dream brands know that you exist this is where your expertise and community come into play trying to,
Find an email address you need to try and find an email of someone at that company maybe by looking at a press release on your dream brand’s website let that person know about your expertise your community,
your engagement and don’t be shy about following up. Did I mention do not mention prices yet you’re aiming to connect not pitch for now okay we’re picking up steam here full steam ahead.
Step five figure out your prices when I started doing brand deals I started low the equivalent of like one hour at my billable rate just to see,
What was possible when I got a yes I increased that fee by like 30 once I got another yes I increased it by another 30.
I kept going up and up until every yes was a yes and then I started to feel some resistance.
Which I knew was my sweet spot for sponsored content the general rule of thumb is that you can charge about a hundred dollars for every 10,000 followers on Instagram but in my experience,
it’s actually been higher.
That if you’re an expert professional or a thought leader I think you can go higher now on to our last step six-determine your add-one.
